Contributing to sustainability goals

If we develop an innovation together, we directly contribute to both national and international sustainability goals:

  1. Global Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs)
  2. Government-wide programme Netherlands Circular 2050

1. 17 global SDGs to make the world a better place

The Sustainable Development Goals (SGDs) are the 17 development goals of the United Nations (UN). These are goals designed to make the world a fairer, more inclusive and better place for everyone by 2030. These SDGs have been agreed by the 193 countries affiliated with the UN.

Renewi is committed to 6 of the 17 SDGs.

and wellbeing

Keeping employees safe and well is a key objective, and we have the same responsibility to local communities.

One of our key treatment activities is cleaning waste water to make it re-useable.

We take action to protect the climate by carbon avoidance and recycling waste that would otherwise be sent to incineration or landfill.

2. The government-wide Netherlands Circular programme, a 100% circular economy by 2050

Netherlands Circular is about achieving a 50% circular economy by 2030 and a 100% circular economy by 2050. So that we have enough raw materials in the future, and a planet that’s liveable.

As a waste-to-product specialist, Renewi wants to make a major contribution to this transition to a circular economy. More and better recycling is a crucial element of this. That's why Renewi has Mission75.
